I suggest doing a reset, then connect your device with a USB cable to your computer and sync with Garmin Express to get the latest updates.
Thanks. My VivActive HR actually says it connects to GPS, turns from red to green, and when I press start it does not register speed, location or distance...
I have connected it to computer and network using Garmin Express, and it is up to date. Yet still GPS does not register.
Hello there, I have the same problem- brand new vivosmart HR + with non-functional GPS. I have tried to reset and sync several times - going outside in a clear area, waiting a LONG time etc. the GPS still does not work. Maybe it needs to be returned? Any other suggestions?

If you have a vivosmart HR, it does not have GPS capabilities. The vivosmart HR+ does have GPS.
My GPS just randomly started working! I don't know why... maybe the restart needed some extra time to process. Happy because other GPS watches are a lot more expensive. Lets see if it works on my run today...
Sounds good. However, things that randomly start working tend to randomly stop working too.
