Manual step goal will not sync to vivofit 4

I have disabled auto goal and set a manual step goal in the mobile app. However, every time I sync my Vivofit 4, it resets the step goal from my manual goal back to the current auto goal total. (It does not re-enable the auto goal toggle in the app - just overrides my manual goal.) anyone see this and know how to fix it?

I also have this problem. Tried on two different vivofit4 devices. A goal that looks like an auto goal, ~7550, will always be the step goal no matter what I set as a manual daily step goal. Both devices are version 2.80 and I've tried syncing from iOS (up-to-date version) app and windows10 garmin express (version 6.21.0).
