Garmin Connect display frozen on iPad after update to ios 13.3

I updated to ios 13.3 on my iPad.  I opened Garmin Connect and selected a previous activity, which then displayed never-before-seen lap data on a mostly black background.  The only option is to change the size of the display.  I can't close that screen or get to any other view or function. What do I do now?  BTW, I haven't even tried to upload a new activity; all I wanted to do was view a previous one.
