Lost data on Garmin Connect App.

Garmin Connect threw a wobbly and didn't recognize my Forerunner 35. Deleted and reinstalled the App and all has come back up - other than all my data since after February this year. For some bizarre reason it stops at Feb '19. So deleted and reinstalled App again - but no change. There is only still data only to Feb '19. Tons of data missing. Any idea how I can get it all back please? Weirdly when I connect my watch to the laptop all the data still is on the Garmin website and the last 7 days are still on the watch. Thanks.

  • Normally, the data you see inn the app would not be stored locally in your phone, but on the Connect servers.

Did you by any chance pull your upload consent in February?

If that’s the case, and you have deleted and re-installed the app, I’m afraid your data after Feb19 might be lost.

Can you see the data if you log on to the website using a browser? (connect.garmin.com)

  • Thanks for your reply. Not entirely sure what you mean by upload consent - but Feb. doesn't ring any bells. I set the whole thing in play in July '18. Strangely enough the website is up to date as at yesterday - but now the initial sync. screen says I've synced - but when I go into the dashboard, it hasn't updated today's stats and says I haven't updated since yesterday.  Irritating for sure. It's all gone wrong...........!

  • There data privacy setting related to whether you accept data being uploaded from your device (phone app) to the Connect servers.

In the Connect app on your phone, click the three dots in bottom right corner, then go to Settings -> Profile and Privacy -> Data (my translation - wording might differ)

In there, make sure upload consent are in effect, and that upload from device are enabled.

After that, sync your device again and your data from yesterday and today should appear on the website as well.

If not, it’s probably something else that’s wrong

  • Thanks. Yes upload was enabled. Thanks for trying though. I shall go for a run today and see where that data goes.

    Thanks once again.
