Active calories calculation?

Did Garmin change how the active calories are beeing counted?
When I've had the vivoactive 3 I've had an average of around 450-550 active calories a day, now with the vivoactive 4s I only have around 150-250 active calories a day. I'm still doing the exact same things than I've done before. If the total calories a day would be correct like this I would probably be fat by now :D

Does anyone else notice the same thing?

  • Are your heart rate zones, weight, height, activity level settings the same?

Example: My run was about 500kcal, but my active calories were under 500. And my daily active calories has been 50-60kcal. Its not normal!

I have done all the updates on my watch and on my phone(iphone).

Hi, I have the exact same issue with my Fenix 5s. Do we know if there is any solution yet? Is it just a software update error?

Doesn't seem to be adding the activities to the total active calories.

  • I have the exact same problem with my fenix 5s. Customer service are useless and told me there is no problem...absolutely infuriating.

  • I wish I could help. I have exactly the same problem. No answers from Garmin

    Same!

I wrote to them, and they only told me, that they’ll put my watch number to some list.. And that they will try to fix this problem.

Thats my answer, from them:We are currently researching the Fenix 5S. After the latest software update the active calories have been recording improper for certain users. I have added your device by serial number to the active case and we will reach out via e-mail when the software fix is implemented. I apologize for the inconvenience and we will get it settled as soon as possible!

Honestly, not happy at all! With suunto never had these problems:(

  • Well at least you got that answer. I’m currently being told a load of crap! They just aren’t getting what I’m saying to them and obviously absolutely no consistency with staff.
    I am raging.
