Weather Widget on Garmin Venu

I uses Garmin Venu for a day and found that weather widget does not show data. Location service is already on. Nothing happen. Is this a bug or what?

  • Garmin has been completely out to lunch with communications to it's customers.  I just happen to have had an honest support person from the beta team.

Why they don't put headlines on the forums about this, I'll never know.

    Hi DCeremuga

You were absolutely right. It did not work. Im sorry for sending that message earlier. I'm sorry if I have wasted anyone's time

  • It's not your fault.  It's Garmin and their sorry excuse for communications.

  • I was out of town today. When I landed I opened Garmin connect to sync - it forced a log in as if it was a new install and once I’d signed in, I didn’t have to readd my watch  I had weather. Only other thing is Bluetooth car kit also wasn’t working - so that pairing was deleted and recreated and for the first time in 3 weeks I have weather data

  • May have spoken too soon. No weather again

  • I filed a support request to garmin already two weeks ago, sent them logs and they actually acknowledged, that there is a problem on their side and that they are working on it, but till now, nothing happened, so I suggest you guys officially contact garmin support to make some pressure onto them......this is rediculous, software quality at garmin drops more an more....

Thank you for the information. I have confirmed with engineering that this issue has been identified and they are expecting implementation of a software update to the watch to fix the issue mid November.

    Sorry for the frustration.

The above I received from Garmin Support yesterday.  Hopefully they do really come out with a fix this month.

Garmin released an update to the GC app yesterday.  Garmin support told me about it last night, and after updating the GC app this morning, everything is working fine.

You have to update the app, force close it, and then re-open the app and let it sync with the watch.  The current weather conditions immediately showed, and the watch has been updating the conditions and hourly forecast all morning.  It also has been updating the daily forecast when I have changed location.

So far so good.  It works perfectly now.  Just hope it holds with whatever iOS updates are out there on the horizon...
