Run Fenix 6s Pro and Edge 830 at the same time?

I want to run both my Fenix 6s Pro and my Edge 820 when I am cycling. However, I have noticed that sometimes this works, and other times it doesn't. Is there a specific way to set this up? My sensors connect to edge first, then edge drops them.Sometimes Fenix picks them up. Sometimes both pick them up. Most often though, my edge won't stay connected to my phone and it drops out shortly after starting an activity - which means live track also stops. So I feel compelled to run Fenix separately. But sometimes that stops connecting as well and live track fails. Is there a way to set this up in some sort of priority?

  • If your sensors are ANT+ then both your watch and your head unit should be able to see them whether or not it's already connected to one or another. Bluetooth is another story as most BT sensors can only connect to one device at a time.

One way to not have to worry about it is to pair your Fenix to your Edge in the Extended Display mode. Then you pair your sensors to the watch and the watch to the head unit and you'll see what your watch is recording on the head unit screen.

As for your Edge dropping connection with your phone I'd check the 830 forum and see if that's a problem that people in general have been having.
