App is checking Location without permission

After update to iOS 13 I realized the the App is checking my location in the background without permission. The settings allows the app to use my location only when the App is open. But now the app opens by itself many times a day and is checking my location. The app was definitely closed before and kicked out from the background. As a mentioned before, the app is starting by itself many times during a day and sending messages from the background. Sometimes I am seeing the the time on the left top corner om my iPhone is blue. Than i am checking the apps and the Garmin connect app is open again in the background. I think that is not fair and its not funny! Please update the app asap!

  • The clock shows the wrong time. Bad information. Nothing works. Though everything updated.............

  • Same thing happening with me. Very frustrating. The app (even though I keep force closing it) keeps opening and using the Location. Over and over all day long.

  • I realize this is a strange request, but would you be able to record your screen of the app opening itself on its own after you've force closed it? We have multiple iPhone's in-house that are not exhibiting this behavior.

  • In the beginning i had some doubts which app is sending data. I noticed this issue since the last update. I am using iPhone 10 XS Max. You can see this many times During the day. Wait for the “blue” time and  then immediately check the Apps in the background. On my phone i had only one App in the background. So I’m sure that only can be the Connect App.

  • I can’t record the screen doing this as when I start Screen Recording, the Blue Location Icon turns red indicating Screen Recording is active.
The Connect app does not ‘open’ until the clock in the top left corner turns blue (indicating that an app is actively using  Location ) and I press on that blue clock....then the Connect app comes in from the right hand side of the screen.

  • Same here. Click on the blue icon/clock in left corner att garmin connect will open. Only way too fix this is to turn of location for garmin connect not on when open.

  • Im having the same issue as others.  New IPhone 11 with IOS13.1 . Connect just starts using location out of the blue.  The clock disappears and the blue connect icon show up and if you touch it it opens connect. Have to restart phone which stops it sometimes.  Its eating battery also.  If they dont fix this quick its time to change to Strava for me.  Connect has been broken for a while.  What a shame.

  • Here you can see the blue Time in the top left corner. And only one App is in the background. The App was definitely not open before!

Same here.  Deleted the app from my iPhone until there is a solution.

I tried everything and it’s still opening and running on its own.
