Just upgraded to iOS 13.0 and my Garmin forerunner 235 will not connect with Bluetooth - help ?

  • Any luck? I’m experiencing the same issue

No, I'm hoping Garmin update the software soon to cope with it, but so far, nothing.

Did you try to connect via the „Bluetooth-settings“ (Menu -> Settings -> Bluetooth -> Pair Mobile Device) in your watch and the Garmin Connect App? When you first connect the watch to a new phone you have to pair your smartphone with your watch with a code.

That helped me after I updated to iOS13.

When I go the settings, the Garmin app reports that bluetooth is not switched on on my iphone, even though it is.

So when I try and pair the watch with the phone, it just says that bluetooth is off.

What iphone do you have - mine is an XS.

    iPhone X.

If you have already checked in your Bluetooth Settings of the App (Bluetooth Sharing Option) on the iPhone then I’m sorry.

Pairing the watch with the iPhone after installing iOS13 worked for me. Slight smile

Thanks for the help though. I just de-registered the garmin and then reconnected with Bluetooth. It gave me a code which I used, but still won't connect. Really weird. I was very hopeful as you'd got that, but not for me.

I might try and delete the app and reinstall to see what happens. Thanks again though.

Right, I have now got it working. The way I did it was to uninstall the app and then re-install and start again.

    Phew ! What a pain.

I finally got mine working after the update to IOS 13.  None of the stuff Garmin had in their troubleshooting tips worked, so I completely un-installed Garmin Connect, restarted both my phone and Forerunner and reinstalled Connect.  It then went through the initial installation procedure, connected to the watch and re-setup everything properly.  Of course, I lost all the data I had been saving for the past several days (which was extremely irritating) but at least it's working again.

  • Garmin have and always have had dreadful software.  Ive wasted endless hours repeatedly trying to connect various iterations of forerunner and edge. Some of their developers need removing...its seriously the reason Ive been looking at their competition.
