Done with Garmin - now GCM has erased all strength exercises in latest update

If it isn’t one thing, it’s another but my journey with Garmin has been a really rough one. And the sad part is: fantastic hardware is being let down by buggy software, both in terms of GCM as in terms of the operating system running on my Marq Expedition. I’ve had the Fenix 3HR, Fenix 5 and now the Marq Expedition, and each software update, either on iOS or on the watch itself, seems to break 2 more than it fixes. And now, in the latest GCM update, all strength exercises have vanished   I am genuinely curious how something like this can be missed by QC before publishing this update.

Granted, I know stuff can always break here and there, fair enough. However, the frequency with which things go wrong in GCM (wrong data written to Apple Health, exercises vanishing, no longer being able to send workouts to watch) or with the watch itself (randomly losing connection to phone multiple times per day, losing ability to control music with watch multiple times per day, ...) it is an exercise in sheer frustration. I am happy for everyone that is happy with their products and like I said, the hardware is phenomenal. I love how my Marq looks, feels, sits on the wrist etc. But at €1750 I simply expect a better all-round experience and despite numerous back and forth with Garmin support here in Belgium, I’m simply left feeling disappointed and regretting my purchase. it’s a sad thing that a company as great as Garmin is shooting itself in the foot with this crappy software quality control.

Yes this is a huge oooops. I really hope they will be correcting this one quickly; it frustrated me as well. At least the workouts are not lost, just not usable on the mobile app.

I have used Garmin for several years, and unfortunately it is common for them to break something whenever they fix something else. I have felt the same as you, but I don't see a better option out there.

I don't know how to open a support ticket anymore to be sure the right people know about this (although I think they probably already do by now).
