Garmin Connect Activity Time One Hour Off

Since August 1 all of my synced activities are showing as one hour later than they actually occurred. The date and time on my Gamin Forerunner 230 is correct. But, when I sync with my Garmin Connect app, it shows as one hour later. (In turn, the workout time in my Apple Activity app is also showing one hour later.) I checked the time zone in my Garmin Connect settings (web version) and it is also correct. Any ideas?

  • UPDATE: I have discovered the time on my activities is only one hour off when I use the Run Indoor setting (with my Footpod). This has been going on for weeks... Any ideas?

I have the same issue exactly.  Even the footpod part is the same.  Just curious -- are you running on a treadmill in AZ?  I wonder if it's adjusting for DST since it's technically showing MDT.

This is happening to me too for my indoor activities (cardio and yoga profile settings). I’m not using a footpod.

Same issue here - indoor cycling off by an hour. This actually matter because then Apple Health takes the heart rate from the timestamp that Garmin says the activity happened at, meaning it's all wrong.

  • Funny you mention AZ, I actually noticed the problem immediately after returning from a trip to AZ. I ran outside (with the footpod) in AZ and train on a treadmill at home. However, we are currently in the same time zone. So, I’m not sure if there is a correlation?

  • Exactly. I can manually change my time in Garmin Connect which usually corrects my Move ring in Activity, but my Exercise ring doubles my minutes.

  • So, I’m not alone and it seems to be a problem with all indoor activities...but no suggestions?

  • I have noticed this recently too. I have a Garmin Vivosmart 4 and the MoveIQ events (activity autostart) have the correct time but any activity I start recording manually is shown as occurring 1hr later than actual when I sync the data. This is also happening with my husband’s V4 and Connect Android app.

  • I have had this issue ever since my initial setting up of the Connect app. Still continues to this date, I always have to correct the time of my exercise by an hour. Has any of you come across a solution? Just to clarify, I am using an Edge 130 + sensor + indoor cycling, and do not have a Garmin watch. The time on the Edge is correct but the logged time in the Connect app is always an hour behind.

  • It was a daylight savings time issue for me that lasted for two years. But, I think one of Garmin’s software updates eventually fixed the issue.
