Intensity Minutes

Why does a mountainbiking activity recorded with an egde 1030 and hear rate does not got into the activity minutes per week when ist is longer than 10 minutes? Is there an overview of actitivies that count for that?

Thanks

  • Edge devices don’t track intensity minutes. Only wearables do that.

  • For absolutely no valid reason; this is the answer.

Garmin would have you believe that, despite the Edge devices collectinf all the data used to calculate intensity minutes and that data syncing with Garmin Connect, they are incapable of making this metric sync across devices.

Which, of course, renders it absolutely useless for customers with a wearable and a dedicated cycling device. Oh, and it also renders the stress metric useless too. But that’s “by design”.

  • I am so f**cking disappointed about this issue. I have 20 intensity minutes from my vivoactive3 but my 2 hours cycling on my edge820 will not be counted in the connect app as intensity. I thought this will be done by physio trueup. PLEASE Garmin update your code, i'm not a geek but I think this will be done in 5 minutes. PLEASE, thanks

  • I use Edge 1030 for cycling but as long as I wear my Fenix 6 I still get intensity minutes recorded & synced to the Connect app.

  • Hi Jonathan, thanks for your answer. i only use one device for each sport. Edge 820 for cycling. These hours/minutes will synced of course but only as activity-time, but my intensity minutes on my vivoactive are the same before cycling. I wish the cycling minutes would add up.
