Activity temperature completely off: worse aerobic TE?

I realized that recent temperature raise where I live (Italy) is not reflected in the badge which is shown in the lower right corner of the activity map.

Yesterday I ran at ~28 °C (82.4 °F) and it shown 22 °C (71.6 °F).

Today I've run at ~25 °C (77 °F) and it shows 17 °C (62.6 °F).

As all of you know, keeping the same pace at 62 °F or 77 °F is a completely different story, and the aerobic TE should take into account the fact that blood is used to keep the body cooler.
Is it a know issue? What's the weather provider for Italy/Europe?

The temperature data that is displayed in your activity is from the nearest weather station. Source of the Weather Data Displaying in my Activity on Garmin Connect

As for training effect (TE), this link should help you better understand how we calculate this metric (Understanding Aerobic Training Effect Versus Anaerobic Training Effect). We do have devices that have a feature called Heat Acclimation. Here is a link to how this feature works. (What Is the Heat and Altitude Performance Acclimation Feature?)

Thanks for the links. There’s still something wrong since no way the closes airport reported that temperature around that time. That airport is even on Wearher Underground for anybody to check. To reach that temperature in these days you have go up up in the hills or maybe lower mountains.

Could I send you my position via private message and may you check for me the closest weather station?

The release of newer watches makes temperature values more important than before.

This morning I’ve run as usual near sunrise. Hot and humid as usual in my town in Tuscany. On Garmin Connect it reports a value which has probably been recorded in another country in Central Europe, or in mountain. I see those temperatures in fall, between October and November.

The reported temperature is below the acclimation threshold (which is around 21-22° C); that means with a newer watch it wouldn’t have taken into account the weather at all.

That’s a clear bug that should be addressed ASAP if you want to avoid the long-standing VO2max drop for hot places during summer time.

The same afternoon I went on a mountain to escape the heat.

What's fun (maybe not the best word for such an annoying bug) is that the issue went the opposite direction. I made a short walk and GC registered a much higher temperature than the real one. At least it was in line with an airport a few KM away, even though I was at 800m and the airport just 20m above sea level.
