This worked for me to reconnect to Apple Health

Below is part of the transcript on Garmin Chat Support which worked for me.  I have an Edge Explore 1000 and Garmin Connect initially connected to Apple Health, but then vanished when I switched what Garmin device was connected to Garmin Connect.  Follow the instructions exactly.  BTW, as suggested in the transcript, I just made up an email address and password when setting up the new account.  Also, I know Garmin's manuals and online documentation aren't very complete, but I've used Chat Support twice for problems I'd been having, and both times the help was quick and accurate, and the representative seemed to have very good knowledge, or knew where to go to find it.

  1. Uninstall and reinstall GCM
  2. Instead of signing back into their account, select Create New Account (this will just be temporary, the email doesn't even need to be real)
  3. When prompted to select a device to pair with, choose Skip/select No Device
  4. When prompted with "what do you use the app for" (selecting the account role), choose "Health"
  5. The Apple health permissions prompt should appear, turn on the desired permissions
  6. Sign out of this account and sign into your normal account - complete normal device pairing flow

Sources should now contain Garmin Connect.

This is the same fudge I had to find from Google as the live chat team said it wasn't a problem with their app and couldn't help me.
