Live Track Bug - 4.19 Update

Hello Everyone!

        There was a new update that came out 3 days ago (May 28, 2019). Has anybody still having the Problem with the Live Track issue? When you start your ride, your Live track automatically tells Strava (If you have it enabled)  to send its beacon to your contacts? It shows "Live Track Failed" on your Garmin device or your contact gets the link and it says "Status Activity Not Started".  I am still currently having that same problem on my Edge 1000. I always use the Live Track because my Parents wants to see where I am going, Without this feature my parents are very apprehensive of where I am at  while Mountain Biking. Makes me feel like I can't ride anywhere by myself just in case something happens. This is a very crucial feature for my safety and my parents safety. 

I've tried:

- Deleting the App, then Reinstalling it.

- Unpaired the Bluetooth between the my IPhone and the Garmin, and repaired it.

- Restart the whole Garmin

- Updated the Garmin using Garmin Express.

All of the options have failed/didn't work.

  • Please reply if it is working or  discuss more about this bug.
  • Hopefully this issue will be fixed as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Strava Beacon Livetrack is now working as of May 14, 2020

    Same here. App updated but got a “no signal. Trying to reconnect”. But after my daughter finished her run I got a message activity complete! But got nothing in between. HELP

    Latest status is that LiveTrack Autostart is not even trying to do something. Previously it did something and after about 1km riding it said "LiveTrack failed". With my last three rides, nothing happened. Crickets. Also crickets from Garmin. What a shame.

    The problem is still not fixed on 7/5. I still ge the LiveTrack error after 1-2 km of running. Full GPS and LTE signal as always.

    Today, I don't know if it is relevant, I had no issue with sync and live track during my ride. First time since I've updated to 7.5

    This is what I did:

    1. I disabled WI-FI on iPhone
    2. I turn on Edge 1030
    3. I forgot to home my hearth rate sensor so I used my Fenix 5 in hearth rate broadcast mode
    4. Live track worked well during the entire ride (1 hour and 30 minute ride)
    5. I come back home and everything synched well

    BUT

    Once I turned on WI-FI another time Garmin Connect stops to work. For example when I try to access the Training Status page the it show only the "loading icon" (the little man running). I had to restart Garmin Connect only and another time it restart to work.

    All other application on iOS (Strava, Facebook, Messages, ...) works well without need to be restarted, and all other bluetooth device works well another time without need to be restarted.

    Here I am, 24 hours from my vacation in the mountains and, unlike the last summer where everything was running just fine, I'll hike a lot knowing my wife won't be able to follow my position.

    I've set up a shortcut on my iPhone to send messages with my coordinates. Manually send an sms to my wife: welcome to 2010.

    Mine started but indicated that I was in central Africa. I live in upstate NY, Cmon Garmin you are supposed to be better than this.

    Hi I’ve been having problems with Livetrack for months now. Previously worked so well but for the past ca. 9 months it simply doesn’t work. I’ve raised a support ticket with Garmin, mailed application logs, been told to delete and reinstall the Connect app but no improvement. Only starts manually now. Never detects an auto-start (Livetrack failed - message on the device). Doesn’t detect end of ride but when it does its minutes after the ride has been saved.

    I initially invested in Strava Premium to enable this feature but for a long time now its a waste of money and useless feature.

    Pretty poor effort from Garmin to take so long to fix something that worked so well before.

    Had two rides in a row with LiveTrack Autostart working (though not from the start of the ride, but about 2-3km later) and today again: nil. 

    I hate it.
