Unable to grant Garmin Connect (iOS) contacts permission for LiveTrack

I am trying to enable LiveTrack in Garmin Connect (iOS) for my Edge 1030.

When I go to More --> Safety & Tracking --> LiveTrack, it says "This app does not have access to your contacts. You can enable access in Settings -> Privacy". However, when I go to that setting, there is no option to grant access to Contacts. Further, Garmin Connect does not show up in the list of apps that have requested contacts access.

How do I enable LiveTrack?

    If you go to Settings > App Permissions from within the Garmin Connect Mobile app, is there a section there mentioning Contacts, with a Manage button at the top right of it?

    I figured it out. I went to Settings --> Connections --> Find Friends --> Contacts Icon which triggered a request from the app to access contacts. After granting this permission, I was able to go back to the page on the screenshots above and enable LiveTrack.

    In Garmin Connect "settings" page select "App Permissions".  There you will have the option to turn contacts on.

      i can’t figure out to add contacts from my phone in Garmin connect. I can’t use the three dots. Everything is enable in permission etc. 
      can someone help me ? 
      want to add contact from my phone for the emergency option of my Garmin edge 830.

    1. I have this problem on iOS as well, checked all permissions and also reset Garmin 520+ removed app from phone and bluetooth connections and then reinstalled - same issue.

    I’m having the same issue with the edge 830 - can’t add contacts therefore can’t use live track or incident reporting - contacted customer support who said you can only set this up by connecting to a computer which I don’t have !

    Same here with contacts with both my edge 820 & 830 sort this out Garmin reason why I brought them.

    Tell me how you do it with pc Garmin ?

    Same. Just got my 830. I'm able to click on contacts, but nothing happens when I hit "done". I also get an error message when I attempt to add manually.

  • +1 for me :-( was expecting something far greater than my Lezyne Xl but now really disappointed for first impressions...

    I am still impressed with the Garmin - and I am sure this is just a bug that will get fixed but it is frustrating.
