Garmin - Strange Map Tracks

Former Member

Hey guys,

Sorry if this is the incorrect sub-forum - please move it to the correct one if need be.

I got the FR 735XT this past week and did my first track today.
When I view my loop on the map (see image below), it displays these weird spikes.
My friend who did the exact same loop today displayed normally (without the spikes in his trail). - He has the Vivoactive 3.

Although it didn't ruin any of my stats (distance traveled etc.), I'd prefer to get rid of it if possible.

Please let me know if there is a specific setting or way I can fix this.
I haven't had a chance yet to mess around with the watch too much. So excuse me for my ignorance. :)

  • J370 You can't really remove the spikes unfortunately - main things to avoid GPS track problems are to allow the watch to get a good GPS fix before you start - so wait for a while after the GPS ring has gone green. Not sure what options are available on 735 but have you got just GPS or GPS/Glonass GPS?Galileo these combinations work better/worse for different people in different locations.

Try posting this on the 735XT sub forum and you may get some more help there
  • Do you see the same when you view the activity in a web browser instead of the mobile app? Because maybe the activity itself is ok and there's something wrong with displaying the activity in the mobile app. Try another run. If this happens again, and the activity looks the same in the mobile app and in a web browser, then I'm affraid you'll need to contact garmin support.
