How could I get this Cherry Blossom Badge 5K, when I have to run to get this?

You can't get the Cherry Blossom 5K badge unless you run the Cherry Blossom 5K on April 7th. What are you asking? Your question makes no sense.

It‘s sometime hard to see what a badge means, because on the Garmin connect it, it is quite cryptic.
I wasn‘t aware as well. Is there something special to do for „cherry blossom“ or does any 5K run on April 7th work?
  • You have to run the http://www.cherryblossom.org/ run, on that particular date, in that particular location. No other run will do.

I'm kind of new to badges (not that I did not know they existed- I just recently started paying attention to mine). I noticed this was available and I am indeed registered for the Cherry Blossom 10-mile race. Do you just use your Garmin during the race and it automatically recognizes the route and gives you the badge?
  • Technically, it's not your watch that recognizes the route and awards you the badge, but rather Garmin Connect, but otherwise your assumption is correct. Just run the race with your garmin, and after upload to Garmin Connect you should be awarded the badge.

Are you you have to be in the location of the actual race for the Cherry Blossom run?

Generally, I've noticed that location locked badges specify the location you need to be in. e.g., "in <specific_Place> on <specific Date>"

The cherry blossom only shows the date, whereas the The Garmin Marathon Badge, which shows just under the Cherry Blossom states Run the Garmin Marathon 10K in Olathe, Kansas, on April 13, 2019.

I think so. Otherwise the badge would make absolutely no sense.

I can see that, but I can also say that it might motivate a chunky guy like me to run... I guess I better just run and find out if i get the badge here in NYC. (We have a cherry blossom festival too lol)
