After my last software update on my Garmin 3 HR (about 3 weeks ago), I have since been unable to edit my lap swimming activity on the Garmin Connect app (which has been also updated 2 days ago (version 4.16).
Every time I change the number of the pool lenghts actually swum on the "edit activity" tab, I get "total distance=?" (please see photo attached)..
..and when I save the data to then return to the actual "Lap Swimming" activity tab and get the summary, I have no total results in both time and distance fields (please see photo attached).
I was before able to change the number of the pool lenghts without any problems and get the new total distance swum but then, about 3 weeks ago, I got a software update on my Garmin 3HR and since then I am left with this inconvenience.. In the past days I have updated again the software on my watch but without solving the issue.
My only solution atm is to connect my Garmin to my computer and edit the swimming activity through Garmin Express but I find this really stupid as the whole purpose should be to easily edit anything through the app on the phone.
The reason why I need to edit my swimming activity almost every day is because my training sessions consist sometimes in freestyle kicking where my arms are resting on the kickboard and therefore my Garmin does not detect any movement and so records less lenghts swum.
I have to add that as far as the other activities are concerned (running, cycling, etc) I have no issues at all when I need to edit distances, so the only problem appears to be just with the swimming.
I have an iphone 8, version 12.1.4: I have updated the software recently when the problem on the Garmin Connect app already existed..so updating the software did not really solve the problem.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issue or is this whole thing just a new feature on the Garmin Connect app?
