Weather data not available

I have a forerunner 235 and the weather never works. It’s always waiting for app data. BT is connected, tried restarting app and restarting watch. Location services on phone are turned on, what else can I try to make this work?

- Garmin connect mobile needs to be active in the foreground or background
- bt needs to be on
- phone must be connected to internet

issue the sync command from within gcm to force an active connection

I have the same issue with weather data. Nothing suggested below seems to work.
