vivosport syncs but no data shows up

I just had this vivosport and set it up with the app (iOS). When asked if it should upload data to the Garmin website I said "no" since I'm fine with having everything local. I also allowed the app to provide data to the Apple Health app.

Although the vivosport itself seems to work and sync ok, no data shows up neither in the Garmin app or Health app.

I just don't know what to do now.

No data is stored locally. I always have to have wifi on to see any data in the app (current or historical) or to sync so I suspect all data goes through the Garmin site. I don’t know why they even give you an option not to sync to the site.
