I am unable to pair my 735XT with my new iPhone XS. It previously was paired to iPhone 6S. I have restarted both the phone and the device. I have deleted the mobile app from the phone and restored it from the app store but it will not pair. What should I do?

I have the same problem with my 935 - can't connect to my iPhone XS. Reset the watch, reboot, ... no chance!

I have the same problem with my 935. Just got my XS. Upgraded from an iPhone 8. Pairing with the 8 was awesome. No problems at all. With the XS, I've followed all the troubleshooting steps. Turned off both devices. Removed the device from the Garmin app. But when I look at my bluetooth settings in iOS, its like it never sees the watch. Same indication in the Garmin app. It's like the watch doesn't exist. I have gone into the setting menu on the watch and turned the bluetooth paring on/off, and it says "waiting for phone", but the phone never sees it. Really disappointed.

Another 935 user with this problem. In phone settings, the Bluetooth menu shows the phone as connected. However, the Connect app is not connecting to the watch.
  • I also had this problem with my 735xt. Just got it working, but not sure what fixed it. The last step was to turn off Bluetooth in settings, reboot phone, turn Bluetooth on, switch to garmin app, was then prompted for pairing code. Prior to that I had put the watch into pairing mode, but I’m not sure it was still in it. One thing that may have affected it.... I had noticed when turning Bluetooth back on the device list didn’t include my watch until I exited Bluetooth settings (went to the main settings menu), then went back in. This time I did NOT do that, the watch was NOT in the list when I switched to the garmin app. It could be just waiting long enough in Bluetooth settings with the watch in pairing mode could do it... good luck!
  • Same procedure finally worked for me.
Deactivate bluetooth on iphone, restart, activate bluetooth, start the Garmin mobile app, set watch in pairing mode...

I am having the same problem, but have not been able to get it to work. I have deactivated Bluetooth on iPhone, restarted, activated Bluetooth, started the Garmin mobile app, set the watch in pairing mode and it the Garmin App still can't find the device. When I go to Devices on the App it says that the Forerunner 935 is Registered to Garmin Connect. Do I need to remove it from Garmin Connect?
  • I had the same problem with my IPhone Xr. The iPhone found the watch but is unable to pair the watch. Can help me?
    thanks
  • I can do it... the last action was uninstall the garmin mobile and install again. Was a miracle... good luck

Try this: Go into your Garmin app open "More", open "Garmin Devices" delete your device first. Next "Add Device" You won't loose any saved activity info and it should upload your stored info from your device during down-time.

I have my 735XT already open to this setting...(other devices may be slightly different) Menu, Settings, Bluetooth, make sure status is connected, go to Pair, complete the above, confirm 6 digit pairing prompt ......BOOM!

I hope this works for someone/everyone.

YEP That worked.  had to do a hard reset today.  Something was locking it up and not working.
