Live track email notification - too late every time... unusable this way.

Live track works well basically but it is not usable because the email notification triggered in the GCM app is only send about 3 hours later that the ride starts. Most rides have already finished by then.
Sadly it is impossible (at least I don't know how) to find the live tracking without the notification.
With group track I can see that the tracking has started but most of the time waling around with a 2nd edge to see where my partner is (if I'm not on the bike myself) is not convenient.
  • Are you sure that it is Garmin Connect that delays the message? Maybe it is sent on time, but delivered with a delay for some reason.
  • I get the email notification within minutes of starting the live track.

How are you judging the timing of the notification delivery? Are you sending it to yourself?

I'm fairly experienced with email infrastructure (servers, clients, etc) and know for a fact that some email services impose delays on mail delivery when a new mail server sends mail (it's called greylisting). It could be that the receiving mail server is interpreting the message from Garmin as a new server.

Based on my analysis of the last email notification I received, Garmin is using Microsoft to send the messages. It was sent at 6:49:04 (GMT-5) and received by my mail server at 6:54:24 (GMT-5).
