I'm glad it's a new issue with a dodgy update. I've only just moved to Garmin and I was shocked at how unresponsive the app was. Hopefully they'll roll out a fix soon.
Garmin-Joey, I notice the lag and slow sync if I have the My Day tab expanded to show the real-time HR. If I minimize that, things work better. Doesn't require force closing the app, things improve immediately. I can't say perfect, but significantly better. Thank you for looking into the issue.
I've also experienced the lag... and in addition (this may be a coincidence), my EPO-file has not been updated via the mobile app recently. Have been working flawlessly until now. Noticed it this week, when getting GPS lock took quite some time.
Same here.... serious lag with the app on IOS 12 (beta12). Everything else runs fine on IOS12 just the Garmin Connect app is very laggy indeed. Often I have to close it as it just freezes.
The app is more or less unusable for me. It just freezes my whole phone. It's been like this for a while now. I'll be receiving a new Apple Watch as a daily watch so won't be as critical but I'll still be using my Fenix as my main sports watch and would love to here when they expect it to be resolved..... is it days, weeks or months?!?!
Just to add to the lag issue. I've found the Garmin Connect app is continuously running in the background. When I checked the battery usage it showed connect as having 8 minutes on screen activity and 12h 26m background activity. It accounted for 25% of the battery usage for the day. I have to remember after each use to force close the app otherwise it drains the battery.
Duncan-Andison As explained earlier in this thread the issue linked to the real time heart rate widget on the MyDay page. This is also confirmed by Garmin. If you hide that widget from the MyDay page, the app will become usable again. At least that did the trick for me.
