Access to contacts for emergency contacts

Hi,
from time to time I get the alert to allow Garmin Connect to access my contacts for emergency contacts in the Settings. I'd like to give access but unable to to, since here is no permission to give.

Same here, and LiveTrack/Strava Beacon does not work because it does not have the emergency contacts available

same here. The app constantly request access to my contacts but there are no options to give such access

Check your settings for the Contacts app on ios. Settings -> Contacts -> Siri & Search -> "find other contacts in other apps" should be switched on. Then, double check settings for Connect app, permission to access Contacts should now appear.

I followed your instructions but it doesn't work. I have switch on "find other contacts in other apps" under Siri & Search.
Siri & Search now is visible in configuration/connect menu but Connect is still asking to access my emergency contacts. Am I missing something?

The Contacts option is available on my old iPhone 6s+ (iOS 12.1 [16B92]) but not on my new iPhone Xs Max (iOS 12.1.2 [16C101]).

Update 2019-01-04: Deleting and re-installing the app fixed the issue for me.
