I would like an answer to this question also. Surprising and a little disappointing that the question is two years old and there is no response.
There has been a lot of discussion related to this, However, it is unlikely that you will get an official answer from Garmin here. If you want this feature, you can submit your request using the Share…
Same here. Most probably very easy to implement. What are you waiting for Garmin? please add the watch battery status in Connect and Connect IQ

So it seems the answer is you cannot view it on the app. A bit disappointing really. I have just moved from FitBit where it is a basic feature to Garmin and thought that something as simple as that would be a normal feature.
Since the question has been posed and repeated over the last 2 years its pretty obvious it is an intuitive feature that customers need and have an issue with.
Its simpler to see on a phone layout (with notifications) than to scroll through minute text of multiple screens on the watch. Apple Watch layout would be easier to understand because you have a similar layout to a phone but a lot of the Garmin watches are not really laid out like that.

It is not that complicated. Just push the left button in the middle of your watch for a few seconds and percentage and days left just pop up.
That depends on the device and how you have it set up. The truth is that it is very common to lose track of whether your watch is running low and not something that you will always be checking and going through your watch screens to find.
Most people will look at their phones often and check performance across all areas on the dashboard. Also notifications will alert you. The number of people that have asked for it makes it clear that it is much more intuitive and a desired update. Also that most people expected it.
I have followed the advice to raise it as a suggestion.
I submitted an idea request.... September 4th 2021.
It's great that your watches have such a great battery life. However, it causes a problem too.
I'll look down and see the watch is dead because I lost track of monitoring the battery life/level.
Please add battery status to the app (on phone) to easily see the status.
