I wouldn't mind seeing this thread re-vitalized with more contemporary understanding of what the body is doing and what the watch sensors are detecting. I too see considerable amounts of "orange" stress…
I've noticed that mine is more orange when I've had caffeine or alcohol that day or in the previous few days. When I go several days without caffeine or alcohol, it is almost all blue when I sleep. Caffeine…
I have the same issue. Body battery going to 100 only when stress is around 10 while sleeping. But this happen once per month to me. I can't figure out why. I have depression and PTSD. I would love to get good sleep. Maybe Garmin could invent something. Maybe a habit diary that correlates with the sleep, to see what's causing good sleep.
It's very annoying.
I sometimes wonder if it's related to eating late. Certainly watching a thriller type TV show elevates the stress.
I think increasing exercise would help to create more battery resilience but it's hard to do that on those low battery days!
The days I do desk work out goes up but as soon as I have a normal busy day at home it hits rock bottom followed by a high stress sleep if I've come in late from working
For me, the stress at night seemed to be as I read in bed before going to sleep. The Garmin picked it up as stressful sleep rather than being awake. To get a more accurate score, and honestly to sleep better, I've found that if I stay sitting up in the living room reading until I'm nodding off and then go to bed, it works out better all around. For what it's worth.
Same here. My stress is low when I’m at work (my job is fairly easy and I can control every variable so I’m guessing that’s why), and then I go back home and I’m orange all the way till the next day when I get to work again. And yes, I feel drained. I’ve been blue before. And when I was blue, I could see that I got orange when I had a virus, when I had alcohol and when I exercise too late. I’m not doing any of that, and tried everything else and can’t bring it back to low stress. I’ve tried yoga, meditation, singing, you name it. Is it possible to be stressed because I donde like my garmin showing I’m stressed? Can it be a heart problem? Can it be anxiety that only shows when I’m with my kids and husband?
Do you get any low stress over night? I find day time stress is just from simple movement like doing the dishes! More the constant physical stress rather than emotional. I've noted some emotionally stressful events that did not elevate my stress on garmin. Dehydration seems to increase stress too for me.
Same for me too. I'm very perplexed and can't find any explanations. My stress levels are low/rest during my workday; spike for a short period after a noon run but settle back for the rest of my work day. After work, they increase to moderate with family activities (playing with the children, preparing dinner, cleaning, etc.). What's really odd is that the stress spikes to high as soon as I "relax" by sitting on the couch or laying in bed to get the kids to sleep. My stress then remains very high for several hours and only starts to settle a few hours after falling asleep. It typically doesn't reach the "rest' levels until I've been sleeping for at least four hours.
You're in Fight or Flight and have stress you don't know about and Inflamation. You need to reset your Vagus Nerve - Google Box breathing. Do it every morning, every night Also, it's prob Cortisol levels and Glutamate. It will take one year to calm your nervous system down. Mediation, lower alcohol or not near bedtime.
I have found it highly correlates with digestion and alcohol consumption. If I eat earlier, my stress levels are already lower by the time I go to sleep, but if I wait until three or less hours before bed to eat, or if I eat a lot or drink alcohol, then they are elevated into the night. Try playing with when and how much you eat, and you will see that if you go to sleep not digesting food, they're lower.
It is something different for me. Alcohol of course do the stress peak for some time, but i talk about not getting fully recovered even if i had plenty of sleep, because of unusual high stress.
My foundings are it is related to something like burnout, adrenal fatigue, cortisol or similar. What helps is magnesium, vit C, D3 and low dose of all amino acids. Especially L-tyrosine and gaba is helping. (Take it regularly and don't take it before bedtime)
I agree!! I've trialled lots of variables now and there are 2 consistent links.
One is food closer to bed time.
A simple meal earlier is best.
The other is an active day without rest periods. Even if there's no elevated heart rate, no activity intensity at all, my body battery is certain to be drained and not recharge well.
Driving is stressful!? As is watching TV.
Mental stress seems ok!
To top up my body battery I have a busy day at work! LOL
