I wouldn't mind seeing this thread re-vitalized with more contemporary understanding of what the body is doing and what the watch sensors are detecting. I too see considerable amounts of "orange" stress…
I've noticed that mine is more orange when I've had caffeine or alcohol that day or in the previous few days. When I go several days without caffeine or alcohol, it is almost all blue when I sleep. Caffeine…
Thanks for the information in the links. It seems to correlate to mental /work stress. I wonder if you have any studies on physical activity alone? I'm definitely not mentally stressed, taking leave to work at home for the last couple of months. Painting, the house, gardening, some hiking etc. I'm definitely working long hours (12 hours minimum) and not lying down or sitting during the day. Doesn't seem stressful to pick the raspberries etc and I don't feel tired until evening time. I do grow all my food so it is a busy time of year. Still following suggestions for eating early, doing stretches, all good food, no alcohol, avoiding blue light etc but body battery only charging to about 40 or less and stress in the orange for a couple of hours at least during the first part of sleep. I can't find any links to requirements for rest/ meditation etc for light manual work. I've tried easier days but it doesn't help. Same nightime stress with high intensity exercise during the day. Is it enough to stretch, meditate in the evening before bed? Thanks
Try for example the following query, or similar ones, if it is not sufficient:

I too have high stress when sleep starts , I have tinnitus and trouble relaxing, usually have a drink to calm down. My life (next day) is always amazing when my night is mostly blue . It’s crazy I just don’t repeat my “good day” recipe. But it takes consistent days of getting things right. What works is multiple days of exercise, (15ksteps) eating way before bed, avoiding any alcohol for multiple days, if anything upsets my stomach a tiny bit I avoid it(sugar, dairy and gluten). I’m going to start using a meditation app right before bed and do an experiment. I’ll share my results.
side question , my wrist skin seems to get aggravated by wearing my Fenix plus. Usually if my skin gets sweaty under watch, or wearing for a consistent period. Any tips?

Wash the watch (and the wrist) frequently with an antibacterial soap. Wear it on the other hand during the night.
For what it's worth, my movement level and stress level during sleep seem to be very highly correlated. Much more so than either is to sleep stage. More movement, more stress. I recently got a new bed and have been moving less during sleep, so my stress level during sleep is also less.
I found this thread because last night I had some really bad nightmares for the first time in a while and my sleep stress spiked when I was in REM sleep. Don't know if you found anything since you last posted but hope I helped a bit.
