Since 4.3 update, both of us are unable to edit activities (on GCM only)

Since the 4.3 update, my wife and I are both unable to edit activities via Garmin Connect Mobile on our iPhone 8+ phones. She uses an FR935, I have a VA3. Both devices sync timely and properly with GCM. The activities are editable on garmin.com, and the edits made on garmin.com propagate to GCM correctly. But no error of any kind can be made on GCM ("Network Connection Error").
  • Confirm activity edits will go through if the privacy setting is changed within the activity itself.

    Thanks for the hint -- I can also confirm that changing the privacy settings for the activity itself will allow to make changes to the title or type afterwards. But changing the privacy back to "My friends" will not work from inside the app.
  • It worked for me also to change the privacy setting in the activity itself. I do find it frustrating not being able to change the privacy setting back either through the mobile app or through the Garmin website.
  • @Maryrose521: I tried it just now, and had no problem changing the privacy setting of the activity back to My Connections, in Garmin Connect online using the Safari browser on my iPad. (It also works using the Safari browser on my Mac.)

    Thx for posting that Joey but I’m in the same boat as Arddeck above, changed the privacy settings to only me & still not able to edit my runs.

    Did you change the privacy setting for your account or the individual activity?

    For activities that are already uploaded, you will need to change the individual activities' privacy setting.

    Same here. Network error on activity edit. Uninstalled then re installed but just the same....

    I am also having the same issue, with my vivoactive HR. When I do indoor bike I can't edit to put in the distance. Is there going to be a fix soon my app just says network error.

    We are trying to collect more information from users that are still experiencing the error.

    If possible please provide the following:

    When changing the privacy settings, was your account privacy settings changed or the individual activity setting changed?

    If the account setting was changed, all previous activities will retain the previous privacy setting. The workaround should work if the privacy for the individual activity is changed.

    If you get a network error when the privacy set to something other than 'My Connections', can you upload a screenshot of the activity edit screen so we can view the privacy setting and pass along this information to the Garmin Connect team.

    Everyone ... changing your global settings only changes FUTURE activities. If you want to edit a current activity you also need to change the privacy setting for it individually. Changing the global privacy setting won't change the privacy of existing activities.

    Anyway, works fine for me. Thanks for the (temporary) fix.
