Smart notifications not working on Fenix 5 (Wifi)

Hi,

my Garmin Fenix 5 does not display any smart notifications since about two weeks.
The watch connects to my phone (iPhone 6s) without problems and also shows incoming calls.

Any notification of apps/calendar is unfortunately not displayed.

Is anybody facing the same issues and already found a solution?

I already did the following several times:

- Opened Garmin Connect App and removed the watch from the app and removed the watch from bluetooth
- Factory reset the watch
- Logged into Garmin Dashboard and removed watch from there
- Uninstalled Garmin Connect from iPhone
- Rebooted Phone
- Installed Garmin Connect App
- Rebooted watch and went through setup and pairing with the watch

Smart notifications are activated (see attached photo).

Any help is much appreciated.

  • I have a fenix 5s and 6sPlus iphone with ios 12.1.4 version software. My notifications, calls, etc. stopped last fall and would rarely come through, maybe once a week, if that, I'd get a random notification. I called Garmin and they knew this was a problem with ios users but had no answer, despite doing everything all of you mentioned.

    Today I called back and got Eric. He had me connect my watch to the computer with the charging cable. In the garmin Activity file I had 194 activities. I copied these and put them on my desktop, then deleted the 194 files from the Activities folder. Also copied the 2 files from the garminMonitor file and deleted them. After these 2 items were done I began receiving phone calls, texts, all notifications on my watch. The thought was that the 194 activities on the watch was overloading, for lack of a better term, the watch. I hope this continues to resolve my issue, as the watch is now sending notifications. Maybe this will help some of you.
