Gave my 80 year old father a Garmin Vivoactive Hr....hes worn other runner watches before so he somewhat familiar. All he wants is distance and heart-rate now. He has done a few runs and the Vivoactive has gone red and shut off on him....im not there when it happens so cant give much more in details. He thinks it is misreading and saying his heart rate is off the chart heart attack level but thats not the case physically....is there a setting somewhere we could be missing or should we bring it back to best buy?

Sorry, I don't know anything about the vivoactive but Kudo's to your father!
  • Incorrect HR reading is typical for optical sensors. Try searching the forum or the manual for tips on how to improve it (without any guarantee of success). Anyway, no matter how high the heart rate or if it is correct or not - the watch should not turn off by itself.
