Vivoactive 4.40 and Connect IQ Store says "..requires an update.."

Hello all. First time poster here.

I was given a Vivoactive (the basic version) watch for Christmas. I updated the watch to version 4.40, which is what Garmin says is the highest version. Backed up by Garmin Express, which says the watch has no more updates.

I downloaded the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone 8, running iOS 11.2.1, and my Conncect App with version 4.1.5.1. So as far as I can tell, all the players are fully up to date.

When I go into the Connect IQ Store, and try to download a watch face, it tells me, "This app requires an update of your vivoactive. Please use Garmin Express to update your vivoactive."

I've shut the watch down, and restarted the watch. No go.

I've reset my Network Settings on my iPhone. No go.

I've shut down and restarted my iPhone. No go.

I'm out of ideas on what more to update or reset. Can anyone offer some advice on what I might be overlooking or missing here? Thank you.
  • Try syncing using Garmin Express or re-pairing with your phone. The app store doesn't know you've updated the firmware.

Hey jim_m_58. Thanks for the response. I went back into Garmin Express on my MacBook and found out that my registration of the watch never actually took. So, with the updates, I registered it, and everything worked out just fine. It now works as advertised. Thanks.

Ditto all of the above for me. With the exception that Garmin Express works fine, shows I'm registered and my VivoA HR is updated with 4.30 but ConnectIQ won't download by either phone or computer.
I have been on chat with Garmin. Had me Restart watch, iPhone, Garmin Connect, clear cache on MacBook. Still get the "requires update of ... please update .." on Connect IQ downloads. Either bluetooth from the phone or direct connected to MacBook the VA-HR. The Garmin chat rep said they are starting a "ticket" and submitting to engineering - "and will get back to me"...!

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Like Sireks above, all Garmin up to date versions. MacBook 10.13.2, Safari 11.0.2 ... iPhone6s iOS 11.2.1 ... Thanks on any help

Next day - Logged on and everything worked fine. Guess it must been the Garmin chat/engineering going into my account and creating a fix? Anyway, problem solved....
