Fenix 5 sync creates new Workout in Apple Health every time it syncs

I have strange problem with Garmin Connect syncing to Apple Health. Every workout gets saved one more time to Apple Health when syncing. By every workout I mean workouts from current month. Past month's workouts are not created again.

Can I do something about it? It's really really annoying to delete obsolete workouts :(

I have tried everything I can think of...
* disconnected all 3rd party services from Garmin Connect (account settings)
* deleted Garmin Connect account and installed it again
* disconnected Garmin Connect from any other 3rd party services (from 3rd party sites and apps)

Have anybody had the same problem? What did you do to get it working correctly?

iPhone 6S, iOS 11.2.1 (but prbolem was with earlier iOS 11 too)
Fenix 5 (software version 7.00)
Garmin Connect for iOS (app version 4.1.4.2)
  • I noticed the same behavior with my forerunner 935, for me it looks like it just "doubles" the entries. so every time Garmin express syncs to apple health it syncs the new activity AND the previous one.
My solution. Disable "trainings" in apple health for Garmin and use "RUNGAP" to import from Garmin and share to Apple (the add-on is that you also get the MAP synchronized/sent to apple)

Will RUNGAP sync also the calories burned and heart rate data? I tried to use Strava in the same way but iPhone's Workout app showed less data than directly from Garmin's app. Anyway ... Garmin should fix the sync ASAP :(
  • I would hope garmin fix the issue, but apple health seems to be a problem for garmin for a whilenow. For me Rungap did the trick, i even can see HR „graph“ and calories burned.
  • Finally! It seems (at first glance) that today’s Garmin Connect update fixed multiply-like-rabbits workout issue ;)
  • Aaand first glance was way off ... still not fixed. It seems that when workout is older than certain time it doesn't get multiplied anymore. Wasn’t training for a week or so and those old workouts weren’t created anew. Today’s workouts are all 3 to 5 times in Apple Health.

Do any people from Garmin read these posts?
