New gear not available for selection (on the mobile app only)

I added a new pair of shoes this morning. When I go to today's activity to associate them with it, the app presents a list of the six pair which were previously there but not the new pair, so I can't associate them with the activity.

When I go to the web site, the shoes are there and I can associate them with the activity successfully. After I do so, I can go back to the mobile app and see them on the activity successfully, and the mileage is properly updated.

But then when I go to the NEXT activity on the mobile app, they STILL aren't presented as an option...

Is there a limit of 6 sets of shoes on the mobile app activity gear selection list for some reason? Or is there some way to force them to be available for use? I've restarted the app and the phone several times with no change.
  • No, there isn't such a limitation. However, you may have an issue if Garmin Connect Mobile thinks an activity took place before the first use date you specified for the shoes. Looking at other posts in this forum section, it seems that the iOS app sometimes have issues to do with time zones, for metrics (such as weight) that are only date-stamped but not time-stamped.

    Try assigning your new shoes to an activity you start and complete tomorrow (or even a dummy manual activity created for the purposes of testing will do). If they appear in the list for selection, then perhaps delete and recreate the shoes as a new gear item but with an earlier first use date.
