Friends, I recently upgraded my iPhone for the first time since getting my forerunner 735xt last year. I the Apple iCloud backup of my phone to get my new phone up and running but noticed that my watch stopped being smart ie no phone notifications and upload of activities was patchy. Confounded I scoured the interwebz, uninstalled reinstalled Garmin connect on my phone removed and added my watch reset my watch to no avail! My iPhone would detect the watch but every time pairing would fail leaving me unable to upload any activities through Garmin connect mobile. I was about to send the watch back to Garmin when divine intervention ocurrred and I was hit like a lightning bolt with an idea! I changed my iPhones friendly name (which had carried over from my last iPhone after I booted up the new one) angels descended and my watch and iPhone are paired once again! Posting this in the hope that it helps another tragic soul trapped in the depths of Bluetooth disconnection.
