Why aren’t the workouts on my calendar showing up as activities?

Maybe I just don’t understand the feature, but how do I add a workout as an activity? I “scheduled” it, and it shows up on my calendar but not my activity feed.
  • A custom workout is a pre-programmed set of instructions/steps for you to execute in a timed activity, prompted by the watch.

When you actually execute the workout on the scheduled date, you create a record of the timed activity, irrespective of whether you followed the workout diligently. The (scheduled) workout does not then 'become' the timed activity.

Thanks for the reply. Can you direct me to more detailed instructions as to how this feature works? If promoted by the watch seems like it’s more suited for cardio vs strength.

I do a rotating strength workout, and entering in each individual movement/rep/weight is arduous in the app. I was hoping workouts was my answer to save a workout template to add those workouts to my activities.
  • Yes you can do that go into workouts and create a new strength workout adding the exercises and reps you need

You can then drag that workout into the calendar wherever you want it and then send the scheduled workouts to your device and they will pop up on the scheduled day

That’s exactly what I did, but I can’t figure out how to then log that workout (and it’s details) as an activity.

When you say “send to device” what do you mean? My phone? My watch?

    Thanks.
  • What Garmin device do you have - that is where you need to send the scheduled workout assuming you have a Garmin device that allows scheduled workouts. When you execute the workout on your watch or bike computer then an activity will be created which will be saved on the device and then synchronised back to garmin connect assuming you have linked your device to connect. You will then see the scheduled workout and an activity on the same day (which is the executed version of that workout)
