Widgets Settings Not Syncing with Connect Mobile App

Changes made to Widgets in the Mobile App don’t stick. If I try to enable or disable widgets in the Visible Widgets section of the Display Options, those changes do not sync down to the Band or up to the Connect Website. In fact, the widget settings in the app bounce right back to what they were before I changed them even before syncing starts. The same applies for trying to change the Home Widget.

If I make the changes from the Web Interface and bypass the app, the changes get applied to the band without any issue...although there is no option online to disable Music Controls or Weather. The widget settings in the app however, do not reflect the changes made online... no matter what, the same 7 widgets are toggled on and the same 5 are toggled off.

There is also no longer an option to change the order of the widgets. I swear there used to be a screen on the app that let you drag them to rearrange the order.

All other communication between the App, the Website, and the Bands seem to be ok.

    Using GC 4.1.2.1, and running V3.70 on Vivosmart3. Visible widget still not working. I cannot turn off Music, Msg and Weather widgets. It’s on my device by default. And in the app it’s showing OFF.

    What’s going on?

    GCM 4.1.2.1 - iOS 11.1.1 - Vivosmart 3 v3.80
    Same as above, widget sync not working, still.

    If using the Connect website, however, the visible widgets can be customised, and GCM will sync the website's idea of the visible widgets instead.
    Unfortunately some widgets can't be enabled from the Connect website, only from GCM.

    Same here rather annoyed. New Vivosport v2.70. iOS 11.1. This is my second unit now and thinking of returning it again. Just got a replacement yesterday, due to the other one constantly cycling through the screens on its own, draining the battery down, and soemtimes not even counting any steps for hours and hours. Now this? It's so annoying I just wasted like 2 hours of my life trying to remove the music/weather/stairs from the screen, sync, remove, sync, remove, over and over and over and nothing. Then fiddle 10 minutes just getting it recognized by the Garmin Express PC app, try doing it there and it doesnt work either, not only that but the music and weather app doesnt even exist there...This buggy crap is making me want to return it for a refund before my 30 days is up. Maybe I'll buy a Nike+ Apple watch instead. Been a Garmin customer for like 10 years.

    Same for me. I realised I have an issue with the Intensity Minutes (not registering any Vigorous minutes even I ran my heart out), and resetted the Vivosport device (v2.70) previously. This morning when I woke up and sync-ed the device, the Intensity Minutes went haywired again. The GC app and the device registered the wrong Intensity Minutes (279 becames 93, and all Vigorous Minutes were lost). Resetted the device and I have the same problems as you guys. Repeatedly reset the device and reinstalled the GC app to no avail. This is frustrating. Everything was fine before v2.60...

    To think I discarded my Fitbit as I thought the Garmin is better. A stable product beats a product with many features. :(


    New findings 27 Nov 2017:

    I tried out the method discussed by another member Hayden of the forums and installed GC on my Andriod work phone. Well, it worked perfectly. This is evident that the Garmin iOS dev team broke the iOS version of GC OR the iOS11 broke the app.?

    Hopefully Garmin dev team is able to fix it soon.

    It's completely ridiculous that this issue hasn't been fixed. Same with the VO2 max not updating in the current view, for weeks now. Is this company committed to the fitness sector or what?

    The latest version 4.1.3.3 has fixed this issue for me !

    That’s great to hear, Ledesc! I will try it out! Hopefully the GC app stabilizes. Now I hope the iOS does not break it.
  • It has been over 4 years and this is still not fixed! The syncing works, but I cannot reorder the widgets!
