Livetrack autostart with multiple devices

LiveTrack autostart "LiveTrack Failed" unless the connected device is explicitly selected in GCM LiveTrack - Device despite being connected.

I use a number of Garmin devices and its annoying to have to remember to change the Device under LiveTrack in order to make sure Auto Start works. Otherwise i always get a "LiveTrack Failed" on the device.
Anyone else? Any reason why it can't auto float between the connected device?

Thanks
  • Hi - I just posted this problem too. Did you manage to find a resolution? It seems like the livetrack part of the app is not well integrated with the rest.
  • Sorry no. As far as I know if you use multiple devices you have to change the focus of live track to that device before auto start will work. Otherwise you will simple get a live track failed on the device.

Thanks for the reply - Not the biggest issue i guess but annoying nonetheless.

This explains why it works on my Edge 820 and not fenix 3hr...
  • Sorry to drag up an old topic, but I think Garmin may have addressed this issue when they rolled out the new incident detection on some of the newer devices.  I noticed that I have kept my phone set up for group tracking with my Edge 1000.  Over the past couple weeks, I noticed that I was getting live track started notices when my F5+ started an activity.  Looking at the phone, I see the livetrack notification, but when I look at the settings it is still configured for my Edge 1000 which is disconnected.

I am sure it has something to do with the F5+ being one of the incident detection enabled devices.  I guess those devices are now probably always enabled for livetrack despite how the livetrack feature is configured.
