Since I updated to iOS 11, Garmin Connect Mobile no longer syncs with my Garmin Fenix 5S automatically via Bluetooth. I need to open the GC Connect App, and them manually click on the sync button (or do the same on my watch).
IOS 11 is a no go for connecting to FR235 and Garmin Express for Mac stopped syncing at the end of October, but I finally got it to sync on Nov 10th after a few app updates and emptying the trash can and then leaving it for half an hour to find the FR235 and then sync.
If this device tracked the time I wasted on getting it to function properly, it would probably equal my running time in a week :)
Its not fixed, it works for a few days then the app loses communication again... so annoying... all my other BT devices are fine so this sounds like Garmin nor Apple... just my opinion.
This is super frustrating, Garmin needs to address this ASAP. With iOS 11.1, it still happens several times a week with my FR 735XT. Sometimes, turning BT off on the phone for a few seconds will solve it, but most of the time only rebooting the phone will fix it.
(I'm considering buying a second FR 735XT as a Christmas present, but I'm not sure I will if this is not fixed soon)
I just wanted to say, when trying to sync the vivosmart 3 with the connect app on my iPhone 6 s, I didn't know that you had to swipe vertically after tapping and holding the screen to get to the phone setup icon. The instructions just said swipe, and I was swiping in the direction of the arrows on the watch, which just takes you through the activity choices. You have to swipe vertically on the watch to get to the gear symbol, then horizontally to get to the phone setup icon. The online user manual was not at all clear about that. Just thought it might help someone with their pairing of their new watch.
I have been having problems with syncing with my FR235 for the past few weeks but today it just stopped - I have tried ALL of the "fix-its" - my last resort was forgetting the device and deleting the app from my iPhone 6 - now that I have installed them again the phone doesn't even see the FR235 - I'm ready to throw this thing in the road and go to a more reliable company :-(
Since I upgraded to Garmin Connect 4.1, my Vivoactive 3 won't connect with iOS 11.1.1. I've deleted Garmin Connect twice, and removed my Vivoactive 3 from Garmin Connect website, though it still shows up in the Garmin Connect iOS App. Ugh.
This morning I updated the Garmin App on my iPhone, iOS 11.1.1 From that point on, the app did not recognize the Forerunner 235 anymore, using Bluetooth. After unparing the watch form the phone, it is not recognized at all, not even listed under new found devices. Phone and watch have been restarted multiple times, including switching off/on Bluetooth on both devices. I had no problems at all before updating the Garmin App on the phone with the previous version.
