Garmin Connect Sync on iOS 11

Since I updated to iOS 11, Garmin Connect Mobile no longer syncs with my Garmin Fenix 5S automatically via Bluetooth. I need to open the GC Connect App, and them manually click on the sync button (or do the same on my watch).
  • Downloading the newest Version 4.1.1.2 solved the problem for me. Also restored the iPhone from the latest backup I took before this started.
Thanks for taking care of the problem that fast.

Same thing here. I finally decided to update to latest iOS and now my 920xt will not sync workout data to GC mobile app. My watch and phone are connected/paired but data will not sync. It looks like it is trying to sync but it only makes it a little ways then just sits there with no progress. Then it will finally say transfer fail. All apps and software updates are installed. I have even uninstalled the apps and deleted my watch connection and then reinstalled it several times. Nothing works. Ridiculous.
  • I updated to 11.1.1 exactly 2 days ago, and there have been no BT connection drops since then. Crossing my fingers!

Nope, I had to restart the phone on friday (after 3 days). That's still the only connection drop in 6 days, though, so at least it seems a little more stable.
  • I have my Fenix5 on beta version 6.78 now, and with the latest mobile app no more connectivity issues :) :)
  • Gah - I haven't been able to sync with my iPhone for over a week now. On iOs11.1.2 and now I have even updated to 6.78 on Fenix 5S in case that solved the problem (it didn't).
I am so disappointed that this is still ongoing.
  • I had trouble syncing my forerunner 735xt after running the IOS update and as part of trying to sort that out needed to re-pair my watch and phone. After two weeks and a few Garmin ap updates in the ap store, I still can’t re-pair the devices and proceed. The forerunner can sync to garmin connect via my computer but this is beyond frustrating. Not sure what to do next....the folks on the garmin help line are helpful and knowledgable, but this seems to be a problem yet to have a solution.

I an experiencing these connection drops, too, since updating iOS to v 11.1.2. I presume that the issue has it's root cause in either the connect app or the iOS API, as the phone connects to the watch reliably and the watch switches to "waiting for app".
Fingers crossed, hopefully the next iOS- or connect-app patches bring relief... :-)

Did you try to pair via the connect-app (add as new device)? For me, this solved the issue, as pairing via the iOS settings didn't seem to work.
  • HEY GARMIN!!

Ignoring your customers is leaving a bad impression. How about posting a sticky reply to the top of this thread with some official response and regularly update it. Perception is reality to customers and this silence implies Garmin isn't treating this seriously which frustrates customers but effective communication would instead engender trust and patience from your customers.

I've never understood companies, especially now in the days of big data customer sentiment analysis, that provide forums like this but fail to respond to them. It only creates feeling that customers must fend for themselves.
