Since I updated to iOS 11, Garmin Connect Mobile no longer syncs with my Garmin Fenix 5S automatically via Bluetooth. I need to open the GC Connect App, and them manually click on the sync button (or do the same on my watch).
Fenix 3 iPhone 7 ios 11.2 wont pair. 2 weeks into the problem. Most recently deleted and readded to GC, deleted APP, hard reset of phone and watch. Any other ideas? My phone pairs fine with other devices and other phones, not IOS 11.2 wont recognize this either
Forerunner 235 latest version , Connect App latest version , iOS 11.2
Pairing problem the Forerunner 235 is connected to the phone Bluetooth. BLE scanner detects Forerunner but the Connect App is not able to connect to the Forerunner. What is happening is the services that connect the F.. 245 to the Connect App are off. The only solution to solve this is to turn off/on the iPhone :( , this is ridiculous.
After last update’s almost every day loses connection....
It seams a problem with the Connect App because is the app that launch’s the services for the Connect App...
I like my Whatch but I don’t like this lack of feedback from Garmin very disappointed.... continuing this next watch will not be a Garmin..,
I ended up wiping all the data from my Fenix 5 and deleted the app on the phone and started again. Once i had set it all up again it worked for one synch and then guess what it dropped the connection (even though the iphone (an SE) said the watch was connected on bluetooth!! I had a play with some settings and he presto it now works, I have no idea what settings I changed (not much use I know) but it's been happily whirring away for the last 3 days. The only thing is when I walk away from my phone the watch vibrates and says disconnected and vice versa, but I can live with that
We are continuing to work with Apple regarding Bluetooth connection issues with our devices. We have released Garmin Connect Mobile version 4.1.5 that includes improvements for iOS connectivity. Please continue to post any feedback in this thread.
Great!! At last a life sign from Garmin in this thread :)
I'm still experience connection drop outs as explained earlier but I'm starting to suspect that the problem really resides in iOS (11.2.1), not in the GC-app, for 2 reasons: 1: When GC has lost it's connection to my Fenix5, i force quits GC and starts the app BLE Scanner. BLE Scanner can then see the Fenix5 and manage to connect to it. However, at this stage, BLE Scanner does not list any "Services" for the device. When running the BLE Scanner right after restarting the phone (or from a different iOS device not having GC installed), and connecting to Fenix5, it also lists 3 different services for the Fenix5 device. So, it seems like the BT-layer in iOS seems to forget about the "services" for the BT-device (sometimes). And I guess the services information for the device is required by GC in order to connect to it.
2: For a couple of days ago, when the phone had lost the connection to the Fenix5, it also failed to connect to a Weber iGrill 2. A restart of the phone solved the connection problem. This could indicate that there are some "general" BT problem in iOS 11 (11.2.1)
I updated GC yesterday to 4.1.5.1, no drop out yet  knock on wood .....
Still seeing this connection problem between iOS and Garmin FR235 (iOS 11.2.1; GCM 4.1.5.1; FR235 7.50). Just this morning I had to restart both devices to connect via Bluetooth.
I almost thought the problem was fixed since GC 4.1.5.1 was still connected to my Fenix5 this morning (2 days in a row), however, it had lost the connection when I arrived at work, so the problem was not solved in latest release.
On my Forerunner 935 I lost connection to Bluetooth and GC 3 days ago...the watch just froze on my phone in the middle of my run... stuck on a screen (heart rate zone).... I have since upgraded to the latest version of IOS 11.2.1 and the latest version of GC 4.1.5.1.. restarted all devices,, and. still cannot connect to GC through the app. I removed the device from GC and now cannot even add it back to GC.
Same issues here for the last 3 or 4 months. For a while, powering off iPhone and 735 then restarting both seemed to fix the problem. That does not work anymore, 735 shows connected to iPhone but not GC. Deleted GC and re-added in hopes it would work with no luck. Deleted 735 from iPhone and now it does not even recognize 735 to re-pair. Edge 820 connects with no problem to both iPhone and GC. So do other BT devices. Very frustrating.
