Garmin Connect Sync on iOS 11

Since I updated to iOS 11, Garmin Connect Mobile no longer syncs with my Garmin Fenix 5S automatically via Bluetooth. I need to open the GC Connect App, and them manually click on the sync button (or do the same on my watch).

Garmin ansver to me, that they know the problem, but they cuold'n solve it yet
  • has anyone heard from Garmin ? apple??

They actually had me deliver all kinds of app and sync logs and reports, as well as giving them full details on every little bit of info that is relevant to watch + phone. That was little over a week ago, haven't heard back.

Already updated to ios11.1 and the latest Garmin connect version. Have tried to reset phone, reset watch and re-pair the Bluetooth but still can’t sync via Bluetooth between Fenix3HR and iPhone. This has been so since ios11.0.3. Garmin kindly please help fix this as it’s been few weeks already. Thanks!

Just tried downloading the latest Garmin connect to an older device running iOS10.3.3 and the Bluetooth sync does not work as well. It behaves the same like ios11.1 where Bluetooth will connect but activities won’t sync. I can only sync using usb cable. Does this means it’s a Garmin connect problem?
  • my bluetooth sync just went out permanently after update to Fenix 3HR Firmware 4.5 and latest iOS11.1. Tried all the tricks (I'm a fairly savvy tech guy) and while the iphone will 'find' the F3HR in bluetooth, it will not PAIR with phone under any circumstances.

Called tech support. Nice guy named John told me that it's a problem with iOS11 and they're trying to get Apple to fix it. So- I no longer have a connected smart watch. Not sure if this is a days, months or years issue- but I'd say that this is pretty significant.
  • Strange...due to an 'unfortunate event' my iPhone 6s+ has to be repaired, did a full backup, and received an iPhone SE as a loaner, which was on 10.3.3, did a clean install of 11.0.3 on it using itunes then placed the backup of the 6S onto the SE and now all problems seem to have gone. Been working for a couple of days as it should now.

Well, this fun was short lived. Back to it's usual non-syncing self again, haven't updated to 4.5 on the watch, haven't updated the phone to 11.1. Will just have to wait it out I guess, I'm getting tired of fiddling about with all of it.

I had the same problem but fixed it by deleting GC and reinstalled. Go into settings and re paired the watch. However still could not connect although GC said found. Did a power down of iPhone using 11.1 and repaired. All is well connected as it should. Best of luck
  • Why isnt garmin reaponding to any of this!

When I moved to IoS11 the sync stopped working but it turns out it was the latest software upgrade for my Forerunner 220 which was done at the same time. Using the latest Garmin Connect App in IOS11.1 and resetting the 220 to Factory settings it worked fine. Hopefully GARMIN will do an upgrade soon.
  • Add me to the list of those suffering. iPhone 7 on iOS11.1 (problem since iOS11 released), Garmin Forerunner 220
