Garmin Connect Sync on iOS 11

Since I updated to iOS 11, Garmin Connect Mobile no longer syncs with my Garmin Fenix 5S automatically via Bluetooth. I need to open the GC Connect App, and them manually click on the sync button (or do the same on my watch).
  • Make sure that when you switch away from Connect you're not actually closing the app. The watch isn't connecting through your phone natively, but rather through the app so it has to remain "open" even if it's in the background.
  • It is still running.

I'm talking about sync: Data from Watch getting to GC through Bluetooth. It's not working anymore.

I'm still receiving Notifications, but no automatic sync from steps, HR, etc

I'm having similar issues, except I have to close the Garmin Connect app completely and re-open it before it will sync. Otherwise it says I have no device connected when I press the sync button. I have a Vivoactive. But I'm still getting text notifications, so at least it's functional.

Facing recently problem with constant bluetooth connection drops over my Fenix 3 and iPhone 6 running iOS11. Very often the iPhone shows the connection is ON as well as the watch but it just can not connect/sync to Garmin Connect app - the device is not seen by the application(?).
I need to turn on/off bluetooth on both devices and force re-pairing on the watch to get the connection again, but sometimes it is even not enough and I have to restart the iPhone and the watch. Even though, the bluetooth connection does not remain in longer terms (even several minutes!) and another sync is again unable to proceed.

What is surprising, incoming calls notifications seems to be working. I am still not 100% sure, I am not checking all the time whether the connection F3-iP is maintained and I just got lucky the call did come in the time when it has somehow reached it...

    Anyone experiencing similar issues?
  • I have the same issues. Repairing worked for a while now impossible for devices to connect. Phone says watch is connected but can't sync.

Thanks for feedback. Looks like the iOS 11.0.1 solves the problem. I will take a closer look and get back if encounter any issues.
  • 11.0.1 and Still no background sync for me.

iOS 11, iPhone 7, vivoactive HR. Same issues as everyone else. Super frustrating.
