Difficulty connecting Edge 1030

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've got my Edge 1030 paired with my iPhone, but can't get Connect Mobile to sync with it. In my phone's bluetooth settings, I've got two separate connections to the Edge 1030...one is labelled "Edge 1030" and the other is "BT_Edge 1030". The phone automatically connects to the one labelled "Edge 1030", but ignores "BT_Edge 1030". I'm able to get the phone to manually connect to the "BT_Edge 1030" for a few seconds before it disconnects. Trying to sync the device in Connect Mobile gives me a message that my device is busy.

I've also got a Fenix 5 and have not had any issues with it (and only one bluetooth profile appears in the phone settings).

  • same exact issue?!? very frustrating... and i have Fenix 5x as well and never had a problem with it connecting from day one!

  • Just bought mine , set up ok but no rides yet. Same issue trying to sync some apps onto it
  • Im struggling to upload anything. I've even had my unit changed as I thought it was the unit, but the new one is the same. Can't even get the activity to upload manually. It will however automatically upload any ride to Strava automatically!!!
  • Have Garmin vector 3 + 1030 but CANNOT get any cycling dynamics data to show or read - very frustrating.
    App on phone shows UNLINK ON ONE PEDAL ONLY (Right) other is blank and no matter how many times i turn on pedal smoothness and Auto zero offset they are off next time i go into app.
    If i push Unlink Right pedal it says i will receive Left measurement only and cycling dynamics and TE/PS will be disabled but i dont have any cycling dynamics at all

    Anybody found a fix for this? Just got my 1030 yesterday and can’t connect to iPhone

    until last week I've been able to connect my Edge 1030 Plus with my iPhone XR (both Garmin and iPhone have latest software installed). Since last week, I'm unable to synch. I removed the device, unpaired. Turned off phone and Garmin device.

    When I try to pair again, I get a code, that appears on both Garmin device and iPhone. but then I see that the pairing hasn't completed.

    In the Devices menu I see my Edge 1030 Plus, with a comment Attention Required. I click, and get a message. Your Edge 1030 Plus is not fully paired. Would you like to complete Bluetooth pairing? I click yes. Next:

    When do you typically sleep? I enter the hours , say that I don't want to receive notifications during sleep, and click next.

    Then: Do you regularly ride using a heart rate monitor? No. Next.

    Do you regularly ride using a power meter? No, Next.

    Then the trouble starts:

    Send your recent training data to your new device? Whether I select YES or NO and click next, nohting happens. The next buttons stays there. no next screen, nothing. I get stuck. Impossible to move forward from here.

    On the Garmin device I keep seeing the iphone setup , and that its waiting for phone.

    Any help is very much appreciated!

  • I just had a similar problem.

    My mistake was pairing the Garmin via Bluetooth settings first, instead of throwing the device out of the iPhone‘s bluetooth list and connecting via Garmin app directly. 


    after that everything works again.
