Software update for Forerunner 35

cannot seem to update the software for my forerunner 35. Every so often it automatically kicks off but nothing ever happens stays stuck on Software Update screen.
Have tried via Garmin Express but no luck there either
Depending on the software version on your watch you may need to manually update to 2.80 in order to complete the update. More information can be found in this thread:
