IOS 11 trouble

Just to let everyone know that Connect Mobile works OK with the new iOS 11 beta but no notifications are sent to the watch.
Cheers
  • I'm on the public beta and I see two main issues currently (both of which I think are issues w BT on iOS11, and nothing to do w GC specifically):

    1. General BT wonkiness: the GC app seems to think, erroneously, that BT is turned off, on the phone, like all the time. Other apps don't think this, but I think that whatever process is used by GC to 'see' BT on the iPhone is flaky with iOS 11. I'll go to GC to check the status and it shows that little red slash mark thing saying BT is off. If I turn off/turn on BT again, then it's fine. For a while. Eventually, though, same thing.

    2. I also no longer receive lap alerts and other verbal stuff during workouts. (audio prompts). Yes I have all the same settings I've always had. But those no longer happen for me. Matters not the exercise type - running, biking, nada. Again, the only variable that's changed in my setup is the beta of iOS 11.

Really hope some of the Garmin software engineers are following these or at least are aware of what we're all seeing out here....

It?s impossible to predict when you?ll see an iOS 11 beta problem on your device so you?ll want to keep a list of fixes handy as the update progresses through testing ahead of the official release this fall.

Before you install the iOS 11 beta on your device you need to take a look at our pre-installation tips and our installation guide. They will help you avoid problems.Installation problems are extremely common and many iOS 11 beta users (us included) are running into trouble. You can also try removing the SIM card to see if that helps the installation along. This method has worked for quite a few people.

  • Live Trac issues too

I am having issues with Live Trac. I'm unable to go into the Live Trac menus in connect on iOS 11. It just crashes the app.

Looks like Livetrack has been fixed with the latest iOS11 public beta... I tried it out this morning and it doesn't crash the app anymore.

EDIT: The fix was short lived... A while ago I uninstalled GCM then reinstalled it immediately. It seems that was the reason I could get LiveTrack set up and working again. If I try go into the LiveTrack settings again after it was set up, it crashes the app. Livetrack is still working properly though, I just can't change any settings.

I have installed the latest public beta (Beta 4) and this is the most stable I have seen my 235, GC and iPhone 7. The issues with BT seems to have mostly gone and I am now getting all notifications as expected.
  • The problem I am seeing with iOS 11 and GC is that GC no longer appears as a source in Apple Health (Note: I had to delete and reinstall GC due to another issue and this issue appeared upon reinstall of GC). So, I can no longer sync any of my Garmin data with Apple Health. Anyone else see this same issue and / or have it solved?
  • Installed iOS 11 Beta 5 today, can't even get into the LiveTrack settings - crashes the Connect app every time. I'm not running the beta connect app, never had the banner show up to ask. I even unpaired my Vivoactive HR and Edge 520, removed the app and re-installed, same thing.. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  • ^^ I have the exact same issue with LiveTrack. Select that, and then - boom - the app crashes. Every time, since going to iOS 11 beta (I'm on the latest beta, from 8-16-17, think it might be Public Beta 4? Or something like that). No LiveTrack at all.....
  • New iOS beta today 8/21 - same LiveTrack issue - hey Garmin! How about giving more people the Connect BETA????
  • Looks like Livetrack works with the updated GCM app
