IOS 11 trouble

Just to let everyone know that Connect Mobile works OK with the new iOS 11 beta but no notifications are sent to the watch.
Cheers
  • iOS 11 has not been released yet. It's iOS 11b as in 'b' for beta. Until it is officially released by all means let Garmin know, but the place to report issues is to Apple
  • This workaround seems to be working consistently now in beta 4: Settings > Bluetooth > Forerunner 935 > Forget This Device, then re-add from Other Devices (at bottom of Bluetooth page) Don't mess with GC.

it's not an IOS issue, I have the iPhone seven plus and I had the Fenix 3 and worked so fine, I bought the Fenix 5x and the notifications turns off by itself.

Just upgraded today to IOS Beta 4. Did the trick. Now I get all notifications. On IOS 11 Beta 3, I was getting nothing.

Jack, which Garmin watch do you have ?

I should clarify. I originally added the device (FR 935) in GC, but when I lost notifications, except for phone calls and voicemails, all I did was forget the device in bluetooth and re-add from other devices in bluetooth settings. It would quickly prompt me to pair and 935 would pop-up a passkey.

    Hopefully that clarifies...

Running Beta 4, a Garmin 235, and the latest of GC. Worked for a minute, then wouldn't sync (was connected via bluetooth, but was "waiting for app"). I "forgot this device" and unpaired it via gc, and now it can't see the watch at all. Play with the cutting edge, get the sharp cuts... Reboots to the phone, app, and watch haven't helped yet. Beware...

in my case, it doesn't show up in the "Other Devices" list. alas...

OK, for those that read this later, here's what I did:

    1. uninstalled GC
    2. forgot the device in iPhone settings
    2. reinstalled GC
    3. soft reset the watch (restart watch, then hold down the "back" button as it comes back up)
    4. re-pair the watch in GC

Success! So, for some reason, the update to the new iOS broke the bluetooth connection, and i needed the watch to completely forget the phone (and there's no proper UI for that, unlike, say, the Pebble).
