Trimming activity times in Garmin Connect

I apologize if this is an old question, but I am new here.
Occasionally I forget to shut my Vivoactive HR off at the end of an exercise session until later, so my logged activity may be 20 minutes longer than actual. Is there a way to trim the extra time off the activity permanently? I know I can edit the time, but the HR display still remains at the entire recorded time, and not trimmed to just the activity. A fairly minor issue, but it would be nice to be able to trim it completely.
  • Not in Garmin Connect (online in a web browser, and much less using one of the Garmin Connect Mobile apps).

You could possibly do so on other fitness tracking platforms to which you export the activity record from GC, then re-import the edited activity leaving GC none the wiser about what you've done. There are also applications that can directly manipulate FIT files, again completely separately and outside of GC.
  • You can use the section remover from this site: https://www.fitfiletools.com

    You'll have to:
    1) Export the activity on Garmin Connect (website) (Activity -> Gear Icon -> Export original)
    2) Remove the section using fit file tools (or some other site/app)
    3) Delete the original activity on GC
    4) Import the edited activity into GC - Plus Icon (upper-right hand corner) -> Import Data

A bit of a pain, to be sure. You'd have to use a PC/Mac or an Android phone, since you can't download arbitrary files or upload anything in iOS (using the stock browser).

Or you could use strava to track all your activities intead. Strava has an easy-to-use crop tool. Personally I use both strava and GC.
