App do not show lowest resting heartrate under "resting heartrate"

Hello

I own a fenix 5 and i started using the garmin connect mobile app on IoS

Everyday you can a read a value called "resting heartrate" that says in the info is supposed to be the lowest measured heartrate during the day.
It never shows that. Example. This morning it said restinghearrate was 42, but if I go thru my reading during the night in the app, there are lot of measures like 35,36,37,38 and so on. Most times its under 40. Why does it say 42 then?

It should take the lowest value and show 35? Correct? Is this a bug?

Prior to September 2016, the App reported resting HR as you describe. Since then, an 'average' figure is given but neither the algorithm nor the rationale have ever been given. Please Garmin, explain why and how?

    Sleeping vs resting

I think it's because resting HR is different then sleeping HR.... The lowest HR when awake should be the one processed via software, inside a good sample, to show the Resting HR.
At least that is what makes sense.
