How do I setup this workout?

Restarting my running program. I want to do a total of 1.25 miles of distance, but within that 1.25 miles I want to run 1 minute and then walk 2 minutes and repeat for the 1.25 miles...I would like my Garmin 235 to vibrate at the end of a time change(after the 1 minute then again after the 2 minutes) and let me know when I have gone 1/2 way...can this be done?
  • (This has nothing to do with the Garmin Connect Mobile app for iOS, so why here?)

    You can set:
    • recurring, (time-based) Run/Walk alerts for 1:00 and 2:00 respectively;
    • a non-repeating, distance-based Custom alert – perhaps with the arbitrary message "Done!" – for 1.25mi; and
    • another non-repeating, distance-based Custom alert – perhaps as the already-listed “Turn Around”? – for 0.65mi‑←‑because you cannot get from the provider number picker controls the level of granularity required for 0.625mi, and you are not invited to enter an arbitrary target of your choosing as a string of digits

    which are not mutually exclusive. Note that the Run/Walk alerts will not automatically mark any laps for you when they are triggered.

    You can also try using interval workouts created directly on the watch instead of Run/Walk alerts. I don't know whether it automatically record the run and walk segments as splits (or laps), or whether it will work fine in conjunction with the custom alerts.

    However, you cannot create it as a workout in Garmin Connect online and then transfer it to your FR235 on which to execute.

    By the way, 0.625mi is very close to 1.00km, so if you want more precision around the halfway mark, you may be better off using kilometres instead of miles as the unit for distance on your FR235 when setting up the alert, and the switch back to miles afterwards.

  • I think you mean can not cannot. Garmin Connect is able to create some fairly complicated workouts, you just have to know how to create what you want.

    As ASmugDil said,
    This has nothing to do with the Garmin Connect Mobile app for iOS,

    by they way 0.625mi ? 1.609344
    = 1.00584km as per formula mentioned on this link http://www.calculatorology.com/miles-to-km-conversion/

    However you can not create it as a workout in garmin.
